#25 Bangkok I

So the trip I've been anticipating since January came and went in a flash! It was my first time in Thailand and I guess I haven't been overseas for so long I kind of lost the mentality to prepare myself for it. I went there with zero knowledge of the language and their culture but oh well it's bangkok anyway they should be used to tourist not knowing them anyway hahah

C drove down to my house to pick me, then to his house to pick up his stuffs. Made a wrong turn along the way so we ended up having a mini adventure at Clementi area hahaha. But no worries, we got it under control and made to his house safely where papachow drove us to the airport next!

Reached fairly early so we checked in our luggage and went to have some food over at Macs. Sudden realization that it has been more than a month since I ate macs! Side track: There's KFC in NTU now too!!! Yay to bandito pocket in school (/^▽^)/

Flight at 1735 and we reached bangkok in about 2 hours. C highly recommends Scoot due to it's leg space. Trust him because he's 1.8m and have super looooong legs that makes our selfie moments incredibly difficult most of the times (︶︹︺)

If you're intending to purchase a SIM card with unlimited Internet access you can do so once at the arrival hall. You could choose between AIS 3G or DTAC who are just side by side each other. Both have it at 299THB so I don't think there's gonna be much difference who you purchase it from. We bought ours from AIS simply because they advertised themselves as the most trusted operator in Thailand HAHAHAHA #marketingwins Not sure about DTAC, but personally felt AIS 3G was rather slow.

Proceeded to take the airport link towards Phayathai at 45THB if I remembered correctly hahaha. 8 stops in total and about 30 mins and we were in Phayathai where we had to change to the Sukhumvit Line to get to Phloen Chit.

If there's one thing about Bangkok's BTS it's the lack of downriding escalator hahah, C had to carry our luggage which weighed 15kg down the stairs. Walked to Hotel Solo Sukhumvit 2 which is pretty conveniently located near Phloen Chit. Upon reaching Phloen Chit, take exit 4 and keep walking straight until you see a Macs on your right and that building is Phloen Chit Centre. Follow the pavement and turn right into an alley when you see JW Marriot Hotel. From there on, continue walking straight and you'll reach Hotel Solo. It's quite a long walk because it's almost at the end of the stretch. Checked in and kind of settled and familiarized ourselves with the room before we went out for our first meal in bangkok!!! ~(˘▾˘)~

There was free Tuktuk service by hotel to Phloen Chit Centre and then we took the BTS to Asoke. Was quite lost trying to find the restaurant "Love Scene" that C found online. But no worries when you're overseas with google maps and a guy who has been through army, they will lead you to the place eventually 〜(^∇^〜)When we reached, we had the whole restaurant to ourselves until this group of 7 guy tiongs came and wrecked our peace (*`へ´*)

Fresh Oysters at 65THB each!!! (ノ≧∀≦)ノ  Doesn't look very appealing but it was very fresh! Even C who doesn't eat oysters had 2 hehe me brings new experiences to his life (~‾⌣‾)~

Tomyum, Pad Thai and some pork dish. Simple but fulfilling enough. We actually ordered papaya salad too but C had a taste and condemned it due to the uncooked greens so I did not even touch it at all.

40 THB Magnum for dessert! That's like $1.60SGD. Sigh, why is everything so exensive in Sg (╯︵╰,)

Finally got a job after what seems like forever, and it has already been a month. Just praying they will recontract me cause I hate finding jobs though it's high possibility that they wouldn't because boss will be back from MC and there's no need for a temp anymore (╯︵╰,)

But first back to life without a job yet. (=^-ω-^=)

Seniors Camp Day 1 & 2! Sapped the energy out of me, I'm too old to manage camps (︶︹︺)

Met Crystal after the first day of work for dinner. 320 below is definitely worth the fats. SOOOOOOOOO CREAMY AND SOFT TOO GOOD YUMZ (ノ´ヮ´)ノ*:・゚✧

Jobweek again. But at least it was one of the better ones that we managed to earn quite a fair bit.

Bye to Florence going on her OCIP and welcome back to sg Huishan!

Don't want to work but still wanna work do you get this conflicting feeling pshhhhhhh (ノ-_-)ノ ~┻━┻

#16

CNY eve spent in kl, eating the last meal of the year by KL's "Chinatown" says father. Dinner was accompanied by free fireworks. Only something you get in Malaysia, we didn't even need to queue nor squeeze. Just sat comfortably munching away~ The heart of KL is actually very similar to SG, brightly lit streets with shopping malls everywhere.

Back to hotel to chill after a day of travelling. Woke up considerably early on 初一 morning and managed to navigate successfully to visit granny after brunch. Left after awhile when she felt tired and wanted to sleep. And so we managed to reach JB just about dinner time.

四大天王

Sharkfin Soup

Cereal Prawn

Finally did something to my craving for liu sha bao ^^

Thai Style Pig Trotters.

And it was a whopping bill of RM170 haha.

初二 was spent lazing round at home in the morning before we managed to drag ourselves out for lunch and a movie. Everything was sold out or in canto (-.-) so we only had I, Frankenstein or Robocop for choices. And I won bro in scissors paper stone so I, Frankenstein was it! Father picked us up after dinner and we went for prata after that. And in a span of 10 minutes, we managed to catch 3 fireworks :D and many more throughout the meal. Free show me likely.

My blackie growing so huge, he's almost reaching my height when he stands on his hind feet ): But this huge guy is terrified of fire crackers and fireworks. It's kinda funny yet heartbreaking at the same time to see him so terrified )': Then again, kinda angsty how he never stops licking me when I'm in the carpark and so whiny when nobody plays with him. He just sits outside the door and whine until either 1 of us can't take it anymore and decides to accompany him. Poor soul must be so lonely since 小白 is no longer there as his companion ): It's okay, lonely kids will grow up stronger, you will be fine )':

Yet to go visiting in sg but I'm already so tired )):

#11 2014 WANTSSSSSSSSSSSss

I have yet to really do my research on what's available and suitable. All I know is I need a light weight laptop. Current one is getting too old and cranky and too heavy for comfort when carrying it out.

Mum is complaining that I have too many bags but seriously, how can there ever be enough. Black and basic handbag suitable for every occasion is always my top priority.

Wallet is slowly rotting, not bad considering the fact that I've been using it for about 2 years... Kate Spade's wallet so chic yet cool I'm in love    Samantha Thavasa's not too bad too, but maybe a tad too girly for me but still under consideration heeeeeeeee

This book is too good to be missed! Especially credible since it's recommended by me who doesn't have a love for reading :) Love & Misadventure by Lang Leav

Need a portable charger badly because s4 is always dying while I'm outside. ):

#10 1314

2013 was a good start and it ended well. I almost met up with everyone who meant alot to me at a point in my life.

Had another steamboat and gift exchange with C's secondary school friends at xh's house.

Yeap and a few hours before meeting time everyone realized that they had to wrap their presents and someone.... suggested using newspaper and wrapped my present almost like a soccer ball HAHAHHA. Hey but it's the content that matters because the present inside is rather cute and useful. Not something I'll just throw at a corner and let it collect dust. Thanks Ekjun for the gift!

And the good thing about working at the same workplace is that I save the energy to get to know people that I'll only see for a month? Not forgetting Christmas gifts and food as treats ^^

Smoked Salmon sandwhich @ selfish gene cafe one day for lunch. Omg it was damn good, I have to go back again to try their breakfast plate. Looks so damn good when colleague was nomming it down ):

10am to 6pm. last order: 5.45pm

And then one fine day we went VivoCity for Marche during lunchtime. As what they said, I am indeed a special temp :)

Met up with rongzzzz too! Who says you can't make friends while working! Aside from the freaking low pay and utterly saikang job scope, the science center is a rather homely place to work in. Miss taking breaks and just playing around in the exhibition with Rong and Em. Having a snack stash is probably what caused me to gain so much weight then, oh and also the koi every 1 or 2 days :/

Rest well and get well soon!

Had the most budget secret santa with Anderson friends. Such a headache to think of what to get with a $5 budget. Thankfully for Daiso hahaha!Times flies and we are all growing up to be adults this year ):

Moving on from christmas to new year. Went for fireworks and countdown at Marina Bay Financial Centre. Can't believe it has been a year already ;') and the second year watching fireworks with C hehe. While watching the fireworks last year I was actually thinking whether we will watch it again together because a year seems so long later but we did it heh ;') Walked for an hour to plaza sing to watch American Hustle, which is a total waste of time and money. Read the plot the next morning and it's actually quite brilliant but not a show for the tired mind and body. Especially when it has no subtitles, I get lost damn easily. Supper/Breakfast at Swee Choon which sucks, expect for xlb and custard bun. At least I finally got to taste a decent custard bun after the disappointing one from hall's exam supper. Took the first train home and slept for awhile before heading out again to meet le hotdogs clubbers. Tried out D'good cafe while waiting for the other 3 to reach.

D'good has such pretty scenery. If only I'm so damn rich I'll just go to D'good whenever I need to study. And this time my Eggs Benedict were so much better!!! The yolk really flows out when it's cut open and coated my bread with half-boiled yolk hehhe good start to 2014.

And we ended the day with a tub of Spumoni from Island Creamery, thanks to jiahao for the treat and your amazeballs infos ;)

2014, I'm ready for you.

Starting off with the most important question this year.
"What pain do you want to sustain?"
"Because happiness requires struggle. You can only avoid pain for so long before it comes roaring back to life."
